Help pay for
Meals on Wheels in the greater Venice FL area
May 3, 2012
Venice Area Mobile Meals, Inc. has always relied upon financial support from the community in which it serves. To this end, Venice Area Mobile Meals, Inc. has recently launched a new goal based initiative via Gulf Coast Gives, a fundraising website that helps local nonprofits.
A time sensitive project has been posted on Gulf Coast Gives, and your help is needed to raise $546 by June 1, 2012, to sponsor 6 months of meals for a client who cannot afford them.
80% of meal recipients can afford their meals, and pay their bills monthly. Community support helps to fill the gap. Click on the graphic to the right to go to the fundraising project page to donate.
Donations can be made in any amount, they can be made in honor or in memory of someone special, and you can even buy "Give Cards" to send to friends and family as gifts. Consider supporting Venice Area Mobile Meals, Inc. in it's first Gulf Coast Gives fundraising project!
Gulf Coast Gives is a program of Gulf Coast Community Foundation, and donations are 100% tax-deductible. 100% of the donated proceeds go directly to Venice Area Mobile Meals, Inc. to pay for meals.

Venice Area Mobile Meals in the News Venice Gondolier, April 11, 2012
Meals on Wheels is mentioned in the lead article of the Venice Gondolier on the front page of Our Town section, April 11, 2012, Christians say, ‘God Belongs in My City’, as one of 25-30 area non-profits, that the organizers “want to put together people with needs with those with the means. Our experience is that people want to help, but they don’t know where to go to give help.” On Saturday, April 14, following the Appreciation Breakfast, an organized walk will take place from the Venice Gazebo to the Venice Community Center, where Venice Area Mobile Meals will have a Public Relations table organized by Sara Peterson with material for the public from 2 to 5 p.m., and will encourage those participating in the walk to get more information about volunteer opportunities with us. All volunteers are welcome (including yourself) to participate in the walk, and/or assist at our PR table afterward. As an additional “news item” to accompany the article GCCF Offers New Website, in Our Town section of Venice Gondolier, dated April 11, 2012, we have a posted position for Data Entry on the site, “You’d Be Perfect For This”. Refer to http://www.youdbeperfectforthis.org/opportunities/87. If you know of other opportunities that need to be posted, please contact Janice Bartner.
